The Zoho One alternative for Indian freelancers

Zoho One is a remarkable piece of Indian engineering - fifty-plus apps that can run an entire company for one price per employee. But it is priced and designed for a company with employees, and a freelancer is not a company. TechoStop is the client-facing half you actually use, priced per business, from a regular Rs.299 a month.

The short answer

Zoho One is one of the best value-per-rupee products in business software, and it is built in India. Around Rs.1,500 per employee per month on the All-Employee plan buys CRM, Books, Projects, Desk, People, Campaigns, Sign, Analytics and forty more apps, all integrated, with Indian support and Indian tax logic. For a 15-person company standardising on one system, very little competes with it.

The freelancer math is different, and it is the whole story. Zoho One is licensed per person: the cheaper All-Employee model requires a licence for every employee on payroll, and the Flexible model costs roughly twice as much per seat. For one freelancer that is on the order of Rs.18,000 a year before 18% GST - to use perhaps six of the fifty apps. The other cost is time: fifty apps means fifty things to configure.

TechoStop is the opposite trade. It does less, on purpose: a branded client portal, proposals your client can accept, GST invoices in rupees, e-signatures, a booking page, forms and documents - working together on day one, priced per BUSINESS rather than per person, from a regular Rs.299 a month. You give up Zoho's accounting depth, its breadth and its ecosystem.

Choose TechoStop when

  • You are one person, or a small team, and pay for software out of your own pocket
  • You want to be live this afternoon, not after an implementation
  • The client-facing side is the job: portal, proposals, invoices, e-signatures
  • You bill Indian clients and want GST invoices in rupees without fiscal setup
  • You would rather pay per business than per head as you grow

Choose Zoho One when

  • You have employees and want one suite for the whole company
  • You need real accounting - bank reconciliation and GST return filing, not just GST invoices
  • You run marketing at scale: email campaigns, social, landing pages, analytics
  • You need a helpdesk with ticket queues and SLAs
  • You want inventory, e-commerce, or a point of sale

Where Zoho One is genuinely better

Breadth nothing else matches at the price

Fifty-plus integrated apps - CRM, accounting, helpdesk, HR, marketing, BI, e-signature, inventory - under one licence and one invoice. TechoStop does not compete on this ground.

Real accounting, including GST filing

Zoho Books is a proper accounting package: double-entry, bank feeds, reconciliation and GST return filing. TechoStop raises GST invoices but is not accounting software.

It scales with a company

As you hire, Zoho One keeps working - roles, permissions, departments, admin controls. TechoStop is built for freelancers and small teams.

An Indian company with Indian support

Zoho is headquartered in Chennai, prices in rupees, understands GST natively, and has a large partner network for implementation.

TechoStop prices are regular monthly prices per business; any launch offer running is shown on the pricing page. Zoho One India prices are as published by Indian Zoho partners at the date below, billed annually, and 18% GST is additional; partners quote the Flexible plan at both Rs.3,000 and Rs.3,500, so it is shown as an approximate floor. Zoho's own pricing page is the authority. The comparison assumes one freelancer; for a company with employees the per-employee model changes the arithmetic substantially in Zoho's favour.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TechoStop a replacement for Zoho One?

For a freelancer or a small studio doing client work, usually yes: portal, proposals, GST invoices, e-signatures, scheduling, documents and your own team tools in one plan. For a company that needs accounting, a helpdesk, marketing automation and inventory, no - that is what Zoho One is for.

How much does Zoho One cost for one person in India?

Indian Zoho partners publish the All-Employee plan at around Rs.1,500 per employee per month billed annually, with 18% GST additional - roughly Rs.18,000 a year before tax for a single person. The Flexible plan is quoted at around Rs.3,000 to Rs.3,500 per user per month. Zoho's own pricing page is the authority and it runs promotions. TechoStop Starter is a regular Rs.299 per month per business.

Does TechoStop do accounting like Zoho Books?

No, and it does not pretend to. TechoStop creates GST-compliant invoices in rupees with multiple taxes, tracks partial payments, and can collect payment online through your own Razorpay account. It does not do double-entry bookkeeping, bank reconciliation or GST return filing.

Is Zoho One better value than TechoStop?

Per app, absolutely - fifty-plus applications for one licence is remarkable. Per freelancer, no: you pay per person for apps you will not open. Value depends entirely on how many of the fifty you will actually use, which is why a company and a freelancer should decide differently.
